I want to share with you some scripture that I like to go to when I need encouragement to be that godly wife I know I'm supposed to be.
Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Ephesians 4:2
Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you. Ephesians 4:32
"Wives, submit to your husbands as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife even as Christ is the head of the church, his body, and is himself its Savior. Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit in everything to their husbands. Ephesians 4:22-24
Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. 1 Corinthians 13:4-7
These aren't always easy Scriptures to follow. I make mistakes. A lot. But with the Holy Spirit guiding me and teaching me and molding me, and with my husband by my side encouraging me and supporting me- love endures.
Now for a special treat, since it is my anniversary, I am sharing with you this rather simple idea for dating your husband (or your wife-for any male readers. I got this idea from the dating divas. It is a jar full of 8 dates (the link here gives 10 ideas- I only used 8 since it our 8th anniversary.) that can be done for only $2 each. They are really simple- like get a milkshake from a fast food drive thru and use 2 straws. For those of you who know my husband, you know he likes all things simple and cheap. So this should be right up his alley. :-) To download the list of ideas, click here. All you have to do is roll each "date idea" up with 2 one dollar bills and tie with a ribbon. My printer is broken at the moment, so as you can see, I'm not very creative when left to my own devices! But I don't think my husband will mind.
Hope you enjoy!
